Members become owners of the Society with a single membership share and an equal vote in decision-making at our Annual General Meeting and the ability to stand in and vote in elections to the Board that runs the organisation. In time, we aim to develop more direct democratic governance methods, where members have more opportunities to be involved in our work at different levels. However, we are currently prioritising our work on the bidding process with landowners TfL, alongside ensuring that the CBS works for traders and the market.

With our Annual General Meeting coming up in September, and the bidding process on the horizon, this is an exciting and pivotal time to become a member of the Wards Corner CBS – and help shape the future of Tottenham.

Anyone can become a member of the Wards Corner Community Benefit Society. All members will own a single £1 non-withdrawable, non-transferable in the Wards Corner Community Benefit Society. This will be automatically allocated from your first payment to the society. As membership is annual, if you don’t pay your annual subscription, your membership will lapse and your membership share will be cancelled. Your annual membership fee goes towards the cost of providing membership services and the wider work of the Wards Corner CBS.

Information provided will be used for the purpose of maintaining a Register of Members as required by the rules of the Society, for the posting of notices regarding the activities of the Wards Corner Community Benefit Society and will not be passed to any third party without your permission, except as required by law. Only one person can apply for membership per form entry. You must be over the age of 16 to become a member.
