Market Tales

Market Tales is a cultural–community project, that aims to preserve histories of migration, resistance, and collective organising that are central to the CBS’s identity and mission, through diverse creative workshops, collage, music and film. 

Together, these linked strands directly support the aims, capacity, and long-term sustainability of the CBS by strengthening its role as custodian, advocate, and organiser of the Seven Sisters Market community. 

Funded through the British Academy research project Beyond Gentrification: Latin American Market Tales in London, with Research Dr Verónica Posada Álvarez as principal investigator from the University of Derby. Additional support has been secured through the Early Career Research Fund to expand the project’s consultation on the Community Plan through the activation of the Seven Sisters Market community space as an Urban Room.
